There comes a time when it’s right for our tenants to move on. We don’t put a timeframe on this, as we know every individual’s journey is unique.
We are keen to ensure anybody who leaves our service, does so in the right way and has all the tools available to them to make their next step in independence work for them.
From the very first day a tenant joins us, we are working towards their eventual ‘Moving On’, every action, appointment, engagement, involvement is geared towards ‘Moving On’, no matter what length of time that takes.
We are a stepping stone on their way to a truly independent life.
As part of ‘Moving On’, we will support our tenants to:
- Register with their chosen housing provider
- Bid and apply for a new home
- Search for volunteering and employment opportunities
- Prepare for interview in both mind and appearance
- Manage finances between benefits and receiving that first pay packet
- Help settle them in on the first day of ‘Moving On’
- For 4 weeks after at tenant has ‘Moved On’ we will carry out weekly welfare checks (by telephone) to ensure they are not overwhelmed by the shift and are managing to balance the real life challenges that working and moving home can bring as well as not seeing old habits, patterns and lifestyle choices return to them.
